THE SOUR SOLUTION

At this time our filmmaker Lomar was on his freewheeling art phase sleeping semi homeless in couches across Barcelona.

Everyone was nicely lost with their lives. The boys were skating heavy. Nisse had a Tobbe Toshiba in a Scandi flat in Poble Sec of Barcelona (Nisse, Gustav, Spangs, Simon) (A PC that the first Sour catalog was drawn with). The life was not easy, but it was pretty funny in all its broken confusion.

Bjorn had had this Sour idea simmering for some years and suddenly it was time to make some ballsy mad moves fuelled with blue eyed northern naivety. 

We dug a dirt cheap hole into a cockroach infested Poble Sec wall to make up our first office. The infamous cave. Bjorn had found this on one of his local afternoon strolls. Half a meter of dirt came off from the floors and the ceiling and the walls. There was no air. But it was cheap.

Over the coming years Lomar would live here for some time when not staying in a tent on Bjorns roof. Nisse drew some angst ridden memoirs as seen in Vexu´s mockumentary. The air was stale. There was a miniramp at the back for some months until we grew over it. Out of towners would spend time on the loft on dirty mattresses. There was coffee and beer but no sunlight. The time would stop as soon as you walked through the front door into the damp.

 In any case, Bjorn had mortgaged his flat, there was no turning back, and with The Sour Solution we started our life as an "independent skate company". The rest is a beautiful mess that we are all witnessing here around us – developing in its mysterious uncalculated ways. 

 The Sour Solution features Simon Isaksson, Gustav Tonnesen, Koffe Hallgren, Josef Scott Jatta, Jonas Skroder, Daniel Spängs, Albert Nyberg, Erik J Pettersson, Barney Page and Nisse Ingemarsson.

THE SOUR SOLUTION II

As Lomar relocated to Norway to do his fancy film school, Gustav announced he would make a video. And a video he made. A few years of sometimes painful team work and really growing together – Sour Solution II premiered in Barcelona in January 2019 and then proceeded to a liver killing world tour. 

The atmosphere was schizophrenic alcoholism paranoia with a lot of creativity and tears of pain and joy. Business (and life) wise the most often heard quote from Bjorn at the time was "fuck fuck fuck".

Along the way we went to Guatemala and almost died a handful of times. Stockholm nights were light. Many VXs were lost and found and fixed.  What else happened? Vincent and Oscar joined the group. After Simon rolled through the streetloop we popped a few cava bottles open and it was a wrap.

The video premiered to relieved euphoria in our new office (another year of diy and fuck fuck fuck) to a few housefuls of friends and elated chaos.

Voted as video of the year on Transworld was a nice icing on the cake for an amazing year(s) of adventures on and off the board.

SICK BUT SUCK

A more relaxed follow up with off cuts and new material was slammed online by Gustav some months after The Sour Solution II.

Company wise the creativity (and madness) was hitting new highs. It felt like we were finally getting somewhere. While drawing balls and penises to our foreheads.

A mix of stuff from the original Paral-lel was the first ever Sour Solution edit by Lomar. 2015

Burn the Borders was a joint holiday with Skate Mafia to the Basque country. 2016

IKTVS – Internet Killed The Video Star Lomar compiled IKTVS from footage old and new, mixing intagram footage with VX stuff fresh and antique. The video was released with Jenkem Magazine in 2017.

Sour Files – A long running raw files family program on Transworld

Cava Brain was a boozed up Jackass feature film in the middle of everything.

Cinematographer was a Transworld project in 2017. The funniest shit is we played the music ourselves in the cave for this one. Drom played the start beats and then we went acoustic on a Tom Waits classic. The song is actually recorded live on vx by Gustav. 

EJP is a hella flamenco guitar dude and Nisse too and hell... Endless music sessions in the cave and around the world.
